The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
